A longtime partner of Rotary, Primplus Senior Centers, has moved and needs our help!

Volunteers are needed on Saturday, October 11, 9:00-12:00, to prepare new planting beds for the Pollinator Garden at Titustown Community Center at 7545 Diven Street. It will involve lifting and spreading 40-pound bags of compost, as well as spreading wood mulch and tilling these amendments into to soil with a rototiller. The garden will provide added beauty to the Center and enhance the entry to Primeplus’ new home in the most-welcoming Titustown community.

Gloves, hats and sunscreen, and bottes of water are recommended. Bringing a garden bow rake for spreading material would be very helpful, and a mulching fork if you’ve got it. There are two wheelbarrows on site.

The mission of Primeplus is to encourage and support seniors in the Hampton Roads area in their pursuit of social, emotional, physical, financial, and intellectual wellness. To that end, we’ll be inviting their members to join us that day. Several Rotarians serve on the Board of Primeplus, including outgoing chair Joey Rothgery and incoming chair LauraBeth Dehority, so you’ll be supporting our own members too!

Please email Marty Raiss at mraiss@cox.net, or text her at 757-375-5626, if you’re coming.
