Although President Jeff Wells has a few more weeks as the leader of the Rotary Club of Norfolk, he chose to go ahead and honor nine Rotarians with Service Above Self Awards for their extraordinary service to the club during the 2023-24 year. These club members jumped in where needed and lined up community service projects and volunteered for them, led fundraising events, reinvigorated our Rotaract Chapter, spearheaded Career Visitation and much more. Tom Koller not only won the Service Above Self Award but was the first recipient of the President's Award. At the same meeting, Sigur Whitaker, foundation chair, honored five Rotarians as Paul Harris Fellows for their generous contributions to the Rotary Foundation. They include a new Paul Harris Fellow as well as members ranking as high as Paul Harris Fellow +8.
