Brainspotting therapy
Rianne studied child psychology at Radboud University in Nijmegen, Netherlands. She also did a post-master in clinical psychology, also in the Netherlands.  She worked for 25 years in several non-profit organizations where she conducted diagnostic assessments and was responsible for the treatment of children, adults, and multi-problem families.  Rianne has also been a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Nijmegen.

For the last 3 years Rianne has been in private practice. At this moment she works mainly with Dutch clients via online video communication.  Some of her specializations are working with people on the spectrum of autism, trauma-therapy and coaching people who want to enhance their (professional) performances. During the last five years she got trained and certified in several new and powerful therapeutic modalities. Brainspotting therapy is one of them.
As a Dutch family Rianne moved to Hampton Roads in 2017 with their three children because of her husband's (Jos Hekking) work for NATO. It is not the first time living abroad as a family since they also lived in the UK (London) for more then 4 years.
