Music

The Music Committee of the Norfolk Rotary Club is comprised of members of the club who love to sing & are willing to lead the club in song at our weekly meetings. While piano accompaniment is preferred, there are occasions when a pianist is not available & the singing has to be done a cappella. Songbooks are on the tables at most meetings & traditionally three selections are sung at each weekly meeting: a "fun" song, a song with Rotary lyrics, & a patriotic song. Attention should be given to have song selection match any current event, speaker theme, or time of year that might make the song most appropriate. Creativity must be a hallmark of this committee. If the song leader plays an instrument (guitar, banjo, accordian, etc.) that could be a good way to introduce a new accompaniment to the singing. Members of the club should be encouraged to let the committee know if they have talents they wish to share with the club for the music portion of the meetings.
