LITERACY

Committee was developed as literacy was deemed to be major service project. In 2006, a five year commitment was made to work with Reading is Fundamental (RIF) with the primary use of proceeeds of annual Major Fund Raiser through Rotary Year 2010/2011 being earmaked to RIF that would fund as many schools as possible through school year 2011/2012. Our commitment was on a best effort basis and each year following the fund raiser we have advised RIF of our level of commitment for the next year. The committee organizes volunteer groups of members and local companies to read to Norfolk Public Elementary Schools.
