UPDATE on NCAA house settlement
Dr. Wood Selig, Director of Athletics at Old Dominion University, will update us on the recent NCAA House settlement. The NCAA House settlement is a landmark agreement that fundamentally alters college athletics by allowing schools to pay student-athletes directly, establishing a revenue-sharing model, and compensating former athletes for missed name, image, and likeness (NIL) opportunities from 2016-2024. The settlement, approved in June 2025, involves a $2.78 billion payout to eligible athletes and permits Division I schools to directly share up to approximately $20.5 million annually with their athletes, with that cap expected to increase over time.
